Dear Colleagues,
In an era defined by unprecedented global mobility, migration narratives have become central to understanding the complex interplay of personal memory, collective identity, and cultural transformation. The stories of migrants—shaped by displacement, belonging, and adaptation—offer profound insights into the human condition. The emergence of digital platforms and tools has fundamentally transformed how these narratives are created, shared, archived, and experienced, creating new possibilities and challenges for representation and remembrance.
This special issue aims to explore the dynamic intersection of migration studies, memory, identity, and digital storytelling. It seeks to highlight innovative research, methodological approaches, and critical analyses that examine how digital media reshape the narration and reception of migration experiences. Topics of interest include:
• Digital storytelling as a medium for migrant self-representation and agency
• Online archives, digital museums, and the preservation of migration memory
• The role of social media in shaping migrant identities and communities
• Transnational digital networks and diasporic identity formation
• Ethical considerations in representing migration experiences through digital media
• Interactive and immersive media (e.g., VR/AR) in migration narratives
• Digital divides and access in migrant storytelling
• The impact of digital narratives on public perception and migration policy
We welcome original research articles, case studies, and reviews that contribute to advancing the dialogue and practice in this dynamic and evolving field.
