A Study on Translation Strategies of Internet Buzzwords from the Perspective of Transknowletology

Abstract
With the rapid development of the Internet, social platform has beome an inseparable part of people's lives, like TikTok and Rednote. At the same time, a large number of internet buzzwords have emerged, which reflect the characteristics of The Time and have unique cultural marks, and bring a lot of fun to people with its humorous expression style. Against this backdrop, the translation of internet buzzwords has become the focus of our research to promoting cross-cultural communication between China and other countries. Guided by the theory of Transknowletology, and combined with the language characteristics of internet buzzwords, such as transient, concise, implied and popularity. Based on the characterristic of the internet buzzwords, centered on case analysis, it explores the specific application of free translation, literal translation, and transliteration strategies, adapts to target readers’ cognitive habits, thereby enhancing communication effects. This study provides a theoretical basis and practical references for the translation of internet buzzwords in cross-cultural communication and enhance understanding between diverse cultures across the world.
