Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) combined with multi-detector spiral CT (MDCT) for early acute cerebral infarction (ACI). Methods: The clinical data of 76 patients with suspected ACI admitted from March 2024 to March 2026 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent DWI, MDCT, and digital subtraction angiography (DSA). Taking DSA results as the gold standard, the diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of DWI combined with MDCT for ACI were analyzed. Results: The numbers of positive cases diagnosed by DSA, MDCT, DWI, and the combined examination were 60, 54, 57, and 61, respectively. The accuracy, sensitivity, and negative predictive value of the combined detection were higher than those of single detection (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in specificity and positive predictive value among MDCT, DWI, and the combined detection (P>0.05). Conclusion: The combination of MDCT and DWI has higher accuracy, sensitivity, and negative predictive value than a single examination in the diagnosis of early ACI.
