Diagnostic Efficacy of Multi-slice Spiral CT Combined with MRI in the Diagnosis of Meniscus Injuries

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of multi-slice spiral CT (MSCT) combined with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for meniscus injuries. Methods: The clinical data of 82 patients with suspected meniscus injuries treated between February 2024 and February 2026 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent MSCT and MRI examinations, and arthroscopy was adopted as the gold standard for final diagnosis. The diagnostic results of MSCT, MRI, and the combined examination were compared with arthroscopy findings, and their diagnostic efficacy was calculated. Results: Among the 82 patients, 60 cases were confirmed with meniscus injuries by arthroscopy. The positive cases detected by MSCT, MRI, and the combined examination were 58, 59, and 59, respectively. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of the combined examination were significantly higher than those of single examinations (P<0.05). Conclusion: The combination of MSCT and MRI can remarkably improve the diagnostic efficacy and reduce missed diagnosis of meniscus injuries.
