Abstract

This paper empirically evaluates the effectiveness of a post-editing course built on the Post-Editing Competence Model for Undergraduate Translation Students. Using a pretest–posttest design with 26 translation majors and a follow-up questionnaire, the study finds that the course significantly improved overall post-editing competence, especially in cultural competence, basic technical competence, machine translation knowledge, and revision ability. However, pre-editing ability, post-editing knowledge, and linguistic competence showed no significant improvement. This paper verifies the competence model and provides targeted teaching improvement suggestions for future courses.
