Abstract
Tea culture is an important component of Chinese traditional culture, which is also a valuable spiritual wealth of all human beings. Whether the information of Chinese traditional tea culture can be well understood and accepted by the readers of target language is a key issue faced by the translators. The translation theory eco-translatology has established a connection between ecology and tanslation. And this theory can help the translation of Chinese traditional tea culture and thus polish and finally improve the quality of such kinds of texts. The paper takes Lu Yu’s masterpiece The Classic of Tea as an example to illustrate the functions and effects of eco-translatology during the process of culture-loaded words of Chinese traditional tea culture. The paper aims to present the typical features of Chinese traditional tea culture from the dimensions of language, culture and communication, which will facilitate the dissemination and publicity of Chinese traditional culture across the world.
