Abstract

“New quality productive forces” is a core concept in political discourse with Chinese characteristics, and the accuracy and effectiveness of its cross-cultural translation are crucial to the international community’s understanding and acceptance of China’s development philosophy. Based on corpus translation studies and conceptual metaphor theory, this paper constructs an integrated research model. Relying on a self-built multimodal parallel corpus, it conducts an empirical study on the translation patterns and communication effects of the concept in political documents, news media and other contexts. The study finds that its translation is characterized by stabilized core renderings and diversified context adaptation, which not only confirms translation universals such as explicitation and simplification, but also embodies ideological construction and narrative strategy adjustment. The innovation of this paper lies in revealing the cross-cultural communication mechanism of political discourse with Chinese characteristics from the dual perspectives of “concept translation” and “discourse construction”, thereby providing theoretical support and operational paradigms for the translation and introduction of similar concepts.
