Abstract
Objective: To investigate the perioperative brain protective effect and clinical application value of dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm clipping surgery. Methods: Eighty patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm clipping surgery in our hospital from March 2021 to March 2024 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received conventional general anesthesia, while the observation group received dexmedetomidine infusion during the perioperative period in addition to conventional anesthesia. Hemodynamic parameters, serum brain injury markers, oxidative stress indicators, postoperative pain status, cognitive function, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The fluctuation amplitude and values of heart rate and mean arterial pressure during the perioperative period were lower in the observation group than in the control group; VAS pain scores at 6, 12, and 24 hours postoper-atively were lower, and the MMSE cognitive function score on the 7th postoperative day was higher (all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Perioperative application of dexmedetomidine in patients undergoing intracranial aneurysm clipping surgery can stabilize hemodynamics, reduce the expression of brain injury markers, alleviate oxidative stress response, relieve postoperative pain, and improve cognitive function. It has a significant brain protective effect and is safe for clinical use, warranting widespread clinical promotion.
