Abstract
In the context of China’s “Going Global” cultural strategy, translating local cultures has become a crucial component of cross-cultural communication. However, current research on the translation of local literary works still lags behind. In light of this, this study takes the prose of “History of Gan-po Land” by Jiangxi writer Ling Yi as its subject. Guided by Huang Zhonglian’s translation variation theory. It employs selective translation, adaptation translation, and explanatory translation as variation methods to analyze the characteristics of Jiangxi’s local literary works, and explores the strategies for translating Jiangxi’s local literary works into English based on readers’ needs through case studies. This not only effectively promotes the spread of local culture but also helps enhance the image of China and vividly tell China’s stories.
