Abstract
Objective: To explore potential subgroups of resilience in children with acute leukemia (AL) and to analyze the influencing factors of each subgroup. Methods: Using a convenience sampling method, 208 children with AL who received chemotherapy at two tertiary hospitals in Guangzhou from February 2022 to February 2024 were recruited. Based on Haase’s resilience model, participants completed a demographic questionnaire, the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS). Latent class analysis (LCA) was used to classify resilience patterns among children with AL. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression were then performed to explore factors influencing the resilience subgroups. Results: Resilience in children with AL was classified into three latent subgroups: low resilience (41.8%), moderate resilience (38.5%), and high resilience (19.7%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that chemotherapy stage and perceived social support were significant factors influencing the latent resilience subgroups. Conclusions: Resilience in children with AL exhibits distinct categorical characteristics. Clinical practitioners should identify resilience profiles and their influencing factors in different sub-groups to implement targeted nursing interventions, thereby promoting improved resilience levels in pediatric patients.
