Exploration of the Translation Talent Cultivation Model Based on Production-Oriented Approach and Quality-Ability Coordination

Abstract

The essential task of universities is “what kind of talents to cultivate, for whom to cultivate them, and how to cultivate them”. The key to implementing this mission lies in the talent cultivation model. Establishing an interdisciplinary talent cultivation model is the mission of New Liberal Arts. The formulation and implementation of talent cultivation must both address market demands and adhere to educational theories. In the context of New Liberal Arts, universities and enterprises, guided by a Production-Oriented Approach, based on knowledge, learning, and practice, follow online teaching and offline teaching, emphasize translation theory and practice, and integrate learning and application to achieve teacher-student interaction, university-enterprise interaction, and profession-industry interaction. The new model innovates the practice approach by bridging language/culture with translation technology. Furthermore, it innovates cultivation objectives to enable role-switching between learners and professionals. The translation talent cultivation model based on a Production-Oriented Approach and quality-ability coordination aligns with regional demands, emphasizing the organic integration of knowledge, skills, and values.
