Abstract

The deep integration of information technology and education has made blended learning a significant trend in higher education reform, particularly in skill-based courses like College English Writing. However, effectively integrating online and offline components to maximize student learning outcomes remains a challenge. This paper proposes a structured blended learning model for College English Writing utilizing the Chaoxing platform. Grounded in the pedagogical principles of the production-oriented approach and constructivism, the model is designed around a seamless pre-class, in-class, and post-class instructional cycle. The frame-work emphasizes four core dimensions: 1) higher-order teaching objectives, 2) multi-dimensional learning resources, 3) integrated teaching procedures and methods, and 4) implementation of a diversified assessment system. The paper details the practical application of this model, outlining how the Chaoxing platform facilitates autonomous learning, collaborative in-class activities, and a multi-layered writing feedback process involving self-assessment, peer review, automated evaluation, and teacher feedback. This study concludes that the proposed model provides a systematic and actionable framework for enhancing students’ writing proficiency, fostering learner autonomy, and achieving higher-order thinking skills. It offers valuable insights for educators seeking to implement effective blended learning strategies in foreign language teaching and contributes to the ongoing innovation in digital-era higher education.
