Abstract
The paper examines the framework for translation procedures for informative texts through a case study of the Chinese-Thai Translation of the “University Student Handbook.” The findings indicate that successfully translating informative texts requires striking a balance between reader acceptance, textual standards, and information accuracy. Additionally, it develops a model based on functional equivalence theory, with an emphasis on functional equivalence of terminology, sentence structure reconstruction, and language level upgrading. These strategies address fundamental issues such as educational terminology, official document alteration, and structural differences between Chinese and Thai.
