Abstract
Driven by the “Belt and Road Initiative”, overseas projects of highway engineering enterprises in China are increasing. As an important document of construction safety management, the accurate translation of Technical Specification for Highway Engineering Construction Safety (JTG F90-2015) has become the key to ensure the safety of international engineering construction. This study selects the content of Chapter 5 “Lifting and Hoisting” of the code, focusing on the problems of inaccurate translation of technical terms, inconsistent expression of the code, and ambiguous translation of technical details in the translation prac-tice. By combining engineering expertise and translation theory, the study adopts the strategies of terminology standardization, context classification and technical logic visualization to deal with translation problems. It is found that the accurate translation of this specification is of great significance to ensure the safety of highway construction. Accordingly, the translation needs to achieve a balance among terminology consistency, technical accuracy and readability, so as to pro-vide reliable linguistic support for international highway engineering projects and ensure the effective application of the specification in international engineering scenarios.
