Abstract
Based on the deepening digital transformation in education, private colleges, serving as crucial incubators of application-oriented talent in the higher education system, face growing demands for the digital literacy of their foreign language teachers. This literacy level not only directly shapes the effectiveness of innovation in foreign language pedagogy but also profoundly influences the quality of interdisciplinary language talent development. The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has breathed new vitality into technology-enabled empowerment in foreign language teaching, while simultaneously raising the bar for teachers’ digital competence. In light of these challenges and opportunities, this study focuses on foreign language faculty within private colleges. It conducts an in-depth analysis of the current state of their digital literacy, explores application scenarios of AI in instruction, and proposes effective pathways for enhancing their capabilities. The findings aim to provide practical guidance for facilitating the digital transition of foreign language education in private institutions, support high-quality educational development, and ultimately contribute to building a solid foundation for cultivating interdisciplinary foreign language professionals who can meet contemporary demands.
