Abstract

The article examines the main ideas of sociology of deviance and social control of postmodern society. The features of the postmodern society, in which modern humanity lives (globalization, mass migration, consumerization of conscious-ness and activity, virtualization of being, etc.), affect all social processes, including deviant manifestations (crime, drug addiction, alcoholism, prostitution, suicide, etc.). Accordingly, the social sciences, including sociology of deviance, are largely correcting the previously established beliefs.
