Abstract

Building a Digital China, an educational powerhouse takes precedence; Advancing education, digital education takes precedence; Developing digital education, cultivating digital craftsmen takes precedence; Nurturing digital craftsmen, the construction of a digital modern apprenticeship community is an indispensable part. Whether viewed through guided by the policies or practical aims, the digital transformation of school-based modern apprenticeship systems proves not only that it is critical, but it is also imperative. To construct high-quality apprenticeships, we need a holistic, long-term, and sustained systemic endeavor. Grounded in platform theory and institutional complementary theory, this can be achieved by reconciling three institutional logics: governmental regulatory order, corporate market competition, and institutional talent development logic—ultimately forging a digital modern apprenticeship ecosystem. We can improve our students’ skills through strengthening top-level design, promoting multi-stakeholder collaboration, establishing standardized systems, and ensuring talent quality when we lay the foundation for cultivating field engineers centered on elite digital craftsmen, thereby increasing power in new, quality, productive forces.
