Abstract
This paper takes the digital design of Weifang kites as the research object and systematically explores its historical origin, technological empowerment path, innovation strategies and social value. By analyzing the adaptability between traditional craftsmanship and digital technology, an application framework of technologies such as 3D modeling, virtual reality, and parametric design in cultural gene decoding, form innovation, and community participation is proposed. Research reveals that digital design not only reconstructs the knowledge production and dissemination model of kite culture, but also activates the endogenous driving force of local culture through cultural IP operation and community co-creation mechanisms. This article emphasizes that technological empowerment should be combined with cultural critical thinking. While safeguarding the core values of traditional craftsmanship, it is necessary to promote its transformation into a digital ecosystem where the virtual and the real coexist, providing an interdisciplinary paradigm reference for the digital protection of intangible cultural heritage.
