Abstract
Since the 21st century, the Chinese government has placed significant emphasis on the development of vocational education. As teachers are the cornerstone of educational development, building a high-quality teaching workforce is crucial for enhancing the training quality of skilled personnel and strengthening the modern vocational education system. This paper examines and analyzes the challenges, developmental strategies, and strategic approaches for regional key normal universities to provide high-quality and efficient support to vocational education. The aim is to meet the needs of vocational education rather than compete with vocational and technical colleges, with a focus on pre-service and in-service teacher training for vocational education. Ultimately, the goal is to achieve mutual benefit and collaborative development between normal universi-ties and vocational colleges. Taking China West Normal University as a case study, examines its practical explorations in policy formulation, resource integration, training models, and institutional mechanisms, arguing that regional key normal universities should align with regional economic and social development needs to comprehensively enhance the quality and effectiveness of vocational education services.
