Abstract

This study focuses on the group of college athletes in Xi'an universities, exploring the impact mechanism of coach communication style on their training investment, and examining the mediating role of self-efficacy in this relationship. Through a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with 320 college athletes from 8 universities in Xi'an, data analysis was conducted using SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 24.0. The results indicate that the positive guidance style in coach communication is significantly positively correlated with training investment, while the authoritative control style shows a negative correlation with training investment; Self efficacy plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between communication style and training engagement. The research provides theoretical basis and practical reference for optimizing the management of sports training in universities and improving the training effectiveness of athletes.
