Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this report is to provide a reference for the safe use of azithromycin for injection in the clinical treatment of mycoplasmal pneumonia in children. Methods: Two cases of serious adverse reactions caused by azithromycin for injection in the treatment of mycoplasmal pneumonia in children were reported, and the literature was comprehensively analyzed. Results: The high infusion rate of azithromycin for injection is more likely to cause serious adverse reactions such as cardiac toxicity and allergic reactions. Conclusion: There are certain safety risks when azithromycin for injection is used clinically to treat mycoplasmal pneumonia in children, and intravenous administration should be carefully selected. When intravenous administration is necessary, it is essential to consider the child's weight, age, and development, and establish a scientifically sound and rational dosage. Strictly control the drip rate, closely monitor the patient's symptoms for about 30 minutes after administration, and check for signs of severe adverse reactions such as crying, pale complexion and lips, weakened breathing, and abdominal pain. Prepare relevant rescue plans and measures in advance.
