Abstract

Professional universities are a typical representative of undergraduate vocational education in Japan. The success of this model is largely due to its policy background and implementation path of industry-education integration. The Japanese government actively promotes the policy of industry-education integration, aiming to produce highly skilled personnel in line with market demand through close cooperation between education and industry. This model emphasizes legal support, financial incentives, and institutional mechanisms to ensure effective school-enterprise cooperation. Additionally, financial measures like tax exemptions for corporate internships and government-funded R&D projects further incentivize industry participation. Japanese professional universities integrate industry needs into their curricula. The faculty comprises practitioners with significant industry experience. A dual evaluation system, combining internal reviews and third-party assessments, guarantees educational quality and relevance. The rich experience of Japan's vocational colleges in cultivating talents through industry-education integration in Professional universities is an important reference for industry-education integration in vocational education in other countries.
