Effect of Nerve Growth Factor Combined with Endodontic Therapy on Periodontal Markers in Patients with Puldonitis

Abstract
Objective: To explore the effect of nerve growth factor combined with endodontic therapy on periodontal markers in patients with pulpitis. Methods: 50 patients with pulpitis collected from January 2022 to August 2023 were divided into a control group (root canal therapy) and an observation group (nerve growth factor combined with root canal therapy, 25 patients). After one course of treatment, the periodontal index score, periodontal symptom score, and inflammatory factors were observed in both groups. Results: Compared with post-treatment, the periodontal pain scores, periodontal tissue swelling and tooth loosening scores were different between the two groups, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P < 0.05); compared with post-treatment, the periodontal index scores were different and the two groups were lower than the control group (P < 0.05); compared with post-treatment, the level of inflammatory factors in the two groups was different, and the observation group was lower than the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The combination of nerve growth factor and root canal therapy in puldonitis patients can effectively improve the periodontal swelling degree and pain score, improve the periodontal condition, and reduce the local inflammatory response.
