Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic effect of combining enteral nutrition with live combined Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated capsules in patients with intestinal flora imbalance due to pancreatic cancer. Methods: A total of 80 patients with intestinal flora imbalance secondary to pancreatic cancer admitted to our hospital from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, were enrolled in this study and randomly divided into two groups: the enteral nutrition group (n = 40) and the combined intervention group (n = 40). The enteral nutrition group received enteral nutrition intervention alone, while the combined intervention group received enteral nutrition combined with live combined Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated capsules. A comparative analysis was conducted on the intesti-nal flora status and clinical indicators of the two groups after treatment. Results: After treatment, the combined intervention group showed a significant decrease in Escherichia coli and Enterococcus (P < 0.05) and a significant increase in Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus (P < 0.05). Additionally, the clinical indicators of the combined intervention group were significantly better than those of the enteral nutrition group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Compared with enteral nutrition alone, the combination of enteral nutrition with live combined Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated capsules for patients with intestinal flora imbalance due to pancreatic cancer demonstrates more pronounced therapeutic effects. It enhances the dominant flora in the patients' intestines, accelerates intestinal function recovery, and shortens hospital stay, warranting clinical promotion.
