Abstract
As the application of big data technology in education deepens, college English teaching faces a pivotal opportunity for digital transformation. This study, grounded in research findings from an applied undergraduate university in Dalian, delves into the key challenges encountered during this digital transition. These include constraints in resource allocation, inadequate adaptability of teaching models, a lack of digital literacy among teachers, and disparities in student learning outcomes. To tackle these challenges, the study suggests several improvement strategies: expanding platform resources and implementing intelligent recommendations, developing an integrated online and offline teaching model, and enhancing teachers' digital teaching skills while providing personalized learning support for students. The aim of this research is to steer college English teaching towards a more flexible, intelligent, and personalized direction, thereby offering scientific backing for enhancing students' learning experiences and overall language proficiency. This study offers an innovative perspective and practical guidance, backed by empirical evidence, for the digitalization of English teaching in universities.
