Abstract

This study explores the practical utility and limitations of generative AI tools in language learning within the context of English teaching in Sino-foreign cooperative programs. The research finds that generative AI demonstrates significant advantages in foundational tasks such as vocabulary acquisition, grammar correction, and text generation, effectively enhancing learning efficiency. However, its effectiveness diminishes in complex scenarios involving cultural sensitivity and contextual adaptation. Generative AI does not diminish the core role of teachers; rather, it reinforces their functions in curriculum design and cross-cultural guidance through technological support. To prevent students from becoming overly reliant on technology, which could impair their autonomous learning abilities, this study emphasizes the need to balance technological applications with the humanistic goals of education. Through theoretical and empirical analysis, this research proposes optimization pathways for the application of generative AI in cross-cultural education and provides reference suggestions for the deep integration of technology and education.
