Abstract

Translation project management is a crucial subfield of translation studies, focusing on the application of project management theories and methods to effectively complete translation tasks within a set timeframe using knowledge, skills, and various auxiliary tools. This study conducts a systematic review and analysis of research on translation project management over the past two decades (2000-2024) utilizing the VOSviewer tool, drawing data from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). The findings reveal that despite over 20 years of development, translation project management research in China remains in its nascent stages, with limited publication output and insufficient academic attention. Key research areas include terminology management, quality management, and talent cultivation. However, there is a notable lack of collaboration among authors, and the authority and systematic nature of the research require further enhancement. Greater collaboration between academia and industry is necessary to advance research and practice, fostering the development of a standardized translation project management system.
