Abstract
This paper analyzes the differences in family education concepts from the perspective of Chinese and Western cultures and their underlying cultural roots and explores the practical paths for integration. Chinese traditional culture takes Confucianism as its core. Family education focuses on moral cultivation, academic performance, and practical skills. The educational goal pursues all-round development. The educational methods are mostly indoctrinated. The parent-child relationship is close but parents have a strong desire for control. Western culture takes individualism as its value. Family education attaches importance to independent thinking, innovative spirit, and emotional expression. The educational goal focuses on personalized development. The educational methods are flexible and diverse. The parent-child relationship is equal and democratic. In the practice of integration, we should respect cultural differences and achieve multi-cultural coexistence, absorb the advantages of Chinese and Western education for integrated innovation, and focus on cultivating children's abilities through practice. Family education is crucial for children's growth. Although there are differences between Chinese and Western educational concepts, they can learn from each other. Parents need to flexibly apply them according to the actual situation to promote the all-round development of children and meet the needs of the era of globalization.
