Abstract
Language and culture are closely intertwined, with each language embodying its unique cultural nuances. Despite the geographical distance between China and the Arab world, the profound cultural differences significantly influence the modes of communication between the two. Translation, as a bridge of communication, is not merely the conversion of language but also the transmission of culture. As early as 1945, American translation theorist Eugene Nida pointed out the close relationship between translation and culture, categorizing cultural differences into five domains: ecological, material, social, linguistic, and religious. These cultural differences are particularly prominent in Chinese-Arabic translation, deeply affecting the accuracy and fluency of translations. It is crucial to fully consider cultural backgrounds in Chinese-Arabic translation to ensure the accuracy of the translation and convey the deeper meanings of the original text. Based on this, this paper systematically analyzes the challenges posed by cultural differences between China and the Arab world from the perspectives of ecological, material, social, linguistic, and religious culture, and accordingly proposes corresponding translation methods.
