Abstract
Black and white woodcut is one of the important forms of painting. Although its traditional significance has been impacted, it still has a unique charm. Its artistic charm is manifested in many aspects: in terms of expressiveness, due to the limitations of woodcut, the rhythm of the image is expressed through means such as composition, black and white, and lines, highlighting the artistic characteristics and essence; in terms of abstractness, objective factors are refined and sublimated; in terms of lyricism, emotions are expressed through combinations such as lines. The overseas education inheritance strategies include integrating into the local cultural education system, for example, being introduced into junior high school art classes; strengthening through practice in combination with local cultural traditions, like the training courses in Mauritius; promoting through international art exchange activities, such as holding exhibitions at home and abroad; and deeply excavating local human resources in creation, so that Chinese contemporary printmaking can form a unique style, jointly promoting the overseas inheritance and development of black and white woodcut.
