Abstract

Oral diseases are often caused by microorganisms on the surface of dental implants and restorative materials. Therefore, improving the antibacterial properties of oral materials is also a key issue in oral treatment research. At present, experts and scholars use metal and metal oxide nanomaterials to modify the materials used in oral treatment for antibacterial properties. However, since the modified materials are not satisfactory in terms of mechanical properties and aesthetics, further research and exploration is needed. This article reviews the application of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles in the antibacterial modification of oral materials to provide a reference.
