Abstract
Communication is not only the main and necessary form of human social activity but also the way to get to know others and ourselves. In communication, humans learn the skills of expressing emotions and stating views, understanding their own and others' personalities and traits, influencing the lives of others, and promoting their own growth through communication. Colleges and universities are specialized places for higher education, also places where students' world views and outlooks of life and values are cultivated and established. The role of college faculty is not only to impart professional knowledge and answer students' questions but also to guide students' life direction and career planning. It can be seen that college teachers should not only teach good knowledge in class, but also communicate and interact with students, and do a good job in ideological and political education so that students can develop comprehensively in the five aspects of morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics, and labor. This article elucidates the significance and necessity of communication between college teachers and students. It outlines the fundamental principles of communication, examines the current state and challenges of interactions between college educators and students, and proposes strategic pathways and recommendations for enhancing effective communication based on the identified issues.
