Abstract
The surgical clinical training course is a crucial component of medical education, serving as a vital bridge for students transitioning from theoretical knowledge to practical application, and from the classroom to clinical practice. It plays an irreplaceable role in nurturing exceptional medical professionals. However, current surgical clinical training programs often emphasize the development of clinical skills while neglecting the significance of ideological and political education. This article aims to explore methods for integrating ideological and political elements into surgical clinical training courses and to identify a series of practical strategies. To this end, this paper proposes the following approaches: First, by incorporating theoretical knowledge related to ideological and political education—such as ethics and social responsibility—we can help students establish a correct outlook on life and values. Second, through the analysis and discussion of clinical cases, we can enhance students' judgment and decision-making abilities while reinforcing their sense of responsibility and mission. Additionally, engaging students in medical teamwork can foster the development of teamwork and leadership skills. Finally, practical activities, such as free clinics and community service, can heighten students' awareness of the social significance and impact of medicine. By implementing these strategies, we can effectively integrate ideological and political elements into surgical clinical training courses. This integration not only enhances students' clinical skills and overall quality but also cultivates their spirit of humanistic care and social responsibility, thereby laying a solid foundation for developing medical professionals who possess both competence and integrity.
