Abstract

In order to protect and design the public space of traditional villages, this paper first discusses the characteristics and spatial composition of traditional villages to provide a better understanding of the protection and design of public spaces in these areas. Second, it explains the development direction of traditional villages under the concepts of sustainable development and smart cities. Finally, based on the principles of integrity, authenticity, and sustainability, the paper conducts planning and design of public spaces in traditional villages, along with data protection, and analyzes the design effectiveness and data protection integrity. The research findings indicate that the integration of smart city technologies optimizes and adjusts the layout and positioning of public spaces in traditional villages, resulting in a unified prototype, diverse layouts, and a vibrant public space. Throughout the design process, smart city technologies ensure information and data protection, enhance data protection integrity, and facilitate the sustainable development and transformation of traditional villages.
