Abstract

Over the past decade, foreign language teachers in local applied colleges and universities have made significant strides in educational reform. However, persistent pressure and challenges have impacted the professional development and well-being of these educators. As a growing number of young teachers emerge as key contributors to ongoing reform efforts, addressing the developmental obstacles faced by foreign language teachers has emerged as a critical concern for education, research, and management within applied colleges and universities. This paper seeks to analyze the root causes of development challenges encountered by foreign language teachers and proposes systematic and pragmatic countermeasures aimed at facilitating their healthy professional growth. By promoting the cultivation of high-quality talents and contributing to the realization of a distinct Chinese educational framework, these initiatives aim to foster the sustainable advancement of foreign language teachers in local applied colleges and universities. Through various measures, increased support and security will be provided for the professional development of foreign language teachers. This will propel the steady growth of the foreign language teaching workforce and inject new vitality and momentum into the field of foreign language education in local applied colleges and universities.
