Abstract
This paper takes the basic physical education talents in Gansu Province as an example. The focus is on how to retain existing talent resources and fully and effectively utilize them to address the issue of sports brain drain in the province. This paper employs literature data analysis, field investigations, interviews, and other research methods to discuss objective factors and countermeasures from two perspectives: excess talent reserve and insufficient job demand. To tackle this issue, it is essential to enhance the economic development and poverty alleviation efforts in the province. Additionally, enriching positions related to the provincial sports industry, promoting and training physical education graduates, enhancing the quality of physical education examination graduates, and ensuring continuous skill improvement for physical education teachers and coaches are crucial. Personal and professional qualities help expand the social influence of the discipline and improve the social status of sports.
