Research on the Application of Information Technology in English Translation Teaching in Colleges and Universities

Abstract
This study aims to explore the application of information technology in English translation teaching in higher education and evaluate its impact on teaching effectiveness. In recent years, the popularity of the Internet and mobile devices has brought the possibility of change to the traditional English translation classroom. Through reviewing existing literature and research, we have found limitations in traditional teaching methods in English translation instruction. With the development of information technology, scholars have started to explore the application of online resources, computer-assisted translation tools, interactive forums, and multimedia pedagogical approaches within the realm of education. Their objective is to augment the relevance and student engagement of curricular materials, thereby enhancing the quality of instruction in translation studies. However, challenges remain in areas such as educational outcome assessment, learning motivation and effectiveness, and the role transformation of teachers and students. In the future, we suggest focusing on the development trends and prospects, advancing research in related directions to facilitate better integration of information technology into English translation teaching in higher education.
