Abstract

With the current development of the economy and social progress, higher demands have been placed on the literacy of English major students. Professionals need to possess cross-cultural communication skills to facilitate collaboration with relevant stakeholders and adapt to the ongoing trend of economic industrialization. Compared to students in other majors, English majors already have a solid foundation in English. Therefore, students need to integrate their knowledge with real-life situations and English cultural backgrounds in various contexts, utilize English flexibly as a tool, and enhance their cross-cultural communication skills. However, in the current teaching process, there are still issues such as outdated teaching methods, a reliance on a single teaching mode, underutilization of textbooks, and a lack of cross-cultural communication practice, all of which impede the development of cross-cultural communication skills among higher education students. This article proposes several strategies for enhancing cross-cultural communication skills for English majors in universities, for your reference.
