Abstract
Under the wave of digital transformation, the civil engineering industry is also facing unprecedented changes. This paper discusses the necessity and strategy of integrating information technology into civil engineering education. Specifically, the application of BIM (building information model), GIS (geographic information system), AI (artificial intelligence), and other technologies in teaching is analyzed, and a multi-level education model is proposed, aiming to cultivate civil engineers to meet the requirements of the digital age. Among them, the application of BIM technology can improve students' design and collaboration ability, and realize the management and optimization of the whole life cycle of engineering. GIS technology can help students in spatial data analysis and decision support. The application of AI technology can improve the efficiency and accuracy of civil engineering design, monitoring, and prediction. Through the integration of these technologies, it is possible to cultivate students with the ability of innovation and technology application needed in the digital age. There are also some potential challenges in this educational transformation, so practical implementation strategies need to be developed. Through the discussion of the article, readers can have a deeper understanding of how to introduce information technology and optimize civil engineering education to meet the challenges of digital transformation.
