Abstract

The rapid advancements in technology and the increasing complexity of the modern world have necessitated the development of a new breed of engineers who possess not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills. Under the backdrop of the New Engineering era, it becomes crucial to explore the factors that contribute to the cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents. This study investigates the perceptions of students and teachers at Guilin University's Beihai Campus regarding the cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents. We identify various demographic factors that influence individuals' perspectives on teaching and learning experiences and provide suggestions to improve the quality of application-oriented education. The study highlights the necessity of an adaptable, comprehensive, and inclusive approach, taking into account demographics such as age, gender, and academic progress. The Beihai Campus has the potential to establish a more impactful learning environment, better equipping students for the dynamic job market, and enhancing faculty's positive perception of cultivation factors.
