A Brief Analysis of the Integration of Traditional Chinese Culture into College English Teaching

Abstract
As a language, the most important function of English is communication. However, most college students only focus on the importance of the English language and culture, while neglecting the promotion of excellent Chinese traditional culture. The study of Chinese excellent traditional culture is an essential prerequisite for inheriting Chinese excellent traditional culture. As the important inheritors of Chinese excellent traditional culture, college students need to deeply and comprehensively grasp the ideology and practical value of Chinese excellent traditional culture in order to become good inheritors and “Successors”. To promote the integration of Chinese excellent traditional culture into college English teaching and guide college students in establishing a correct value orientation, it is necessary and urgent to cultivate college students' moral sentiments and enhance their cultural self-confidence. This paper focuses on the current situation of college English teaching, analyzes the necessity and historical significance of traditional Chinese culture in college English teaching, and explores strategies for integrating traditional Chinese cultural education into college English teaching.
