Abstract
In the era of globalization, the international situation is changing rapidly, social transformations are deepening, and the competition for cultural soft power is intensifying. This has led to increasingly prominent issues related to cultural hegemony and cultural security. The traditional Chinese culture is extensive and profound. The moral norms and values it contains still have a profound impact on people's social life and spiritual outlook. With its unique Chinese characteristics, the excellent traditional culture of China plays an irreplaceable role in the ideological and moral development, as well as in cultivating the comprehensive qualities of contemporary college students. Combining the foundation of Chinese culture with the requirements of ideological and political education is of great significance for the ideological and political education of contemporary Chinese college students. In the context of the new era, universities should leverage excellent traditional cultural heritage to enhance the spiritual well-being of college students, boost their ideological and moral values, nurture their humanistic qualities, and accomplish the goal of talent development by promoting ethics and character building.
