Abstract
With the aggravation of population aging, there are still many problems to be solved in the field of public policy and management in China. The purpose of this study is to explore the challenges brought by social aging to public policy and management and the corresponding countermeasures. Firstly, this paper summarizes the challenges that aging brings to the social security system, medical care system, and labor market in socialist market economy countries through a literature review. Secondly, this paper analyzes some dilemmas of China's aging problem in the process of public policy formulation and implementation and puts forward some coping strategies, such as strengthening the construction of a social welfare system, improving medical and health care services, and promoting the participation of the elderly labor force. Finally, this paper points out that aging is not only a comprehensive social problem but also a major challenge that needs joint efforts to solve. Only by adhering to scientific argumentation, fully mobilizing all resources, and strengthening international cooperation can we effectively deal with the public policy and management challenges brought about by aging.
