Digital Education as a Tool for Achieving Education Equity: A Systematic Literature Review of the United Kingdom and China

Abstract

This systematic literature review examines the role of digital education in promoting education equity in the United Kingdom and China, comparing, and contrasting the digital education strategies and tools adopted in both countries. The review was conducted following a rigorous methodology, which involved an extensive search of academic databases and the application of inclusion and exclusion criteria. Findings indicate that both countries have made substantial advancements in the field of digital education, albeit with distinct approaches and priorities. The result also shows the potential of digital education as a tool for achieving education equity, while also uncovering the challenges and opportunities in its implementation in the UK and China. Based on the findings, the study offers policy implications and recommendations for the UK and China to leverage digital education more effectively in promoting education equity. The study also identifies areas for future research direction, emphasizing the need for continuous improvement of digital education strategies and practices.
