Abstract
In recent times, with the widespread introduction of Western opera, original Chinese operas have started to emerge before the public. Guo Wenjing has show-cased operatic works that explore uniquely Chinese subjects, making a significant impact on the global stage. This paper aims to address the development challenges facing Chinese opera by analyzing Guo Wenjing's opera music and summarizing its characteristics. The goal is to offer insights and assistance for the creation of Chinese opera music. Guo Wenjing carefully selected his themes, primarily focusing on two aspects: ancient Chinese history and Chinese literature. Characterization is a key factor that influences the opera. Characterization can effectively draw the audience into the plot and heighten the dramatic conflict of the entire work. Guo Wenjing's operas have elevated Chinese opera to the global stage and garnered international acclaim.
