Abstract

Enhancing the resilience of urban areas to withstand shocks and stresses is crucial due to the increasing risks faced by urban communities. These risks have significant implications for human health, well-being, and economic development, especially in the face of rapid global changes. Therefore, it is crucial to identify appropriate, efficient, and sustainable approaches to strengthen urban resilience. This essay utilizes a thorough literature review to investigate strategies for enhancing urban resilience from scientific, economic, and environmental viewpoints. The study findings support the implementation of scientific technologies, investment in urban industries and infrastructure, and the expansion of green spaces as essential measures to enhance urban resilience. These findings have significant potential to help urban residents address the complex challenges their cities face and take concrete actions to enhance their resilience, ultimately leading to improved living standards. Key benefits include reducing disease, improving environmental cleanliness, alleviating poverty, and enhancing the capacity to effectively manage natural disasters.
