Abstract
British and American literature, as the primary representative of British and American culture, has significantly contributed to the development and progress of social culture. Due to the distinctiveness of British and American culture, it is essential to thoroughly consider the influence of their cultural environments when analyzing the linguistic features of British and American literature. This will ensure a more accurate analysis of British and American literature. From a cross-cultural perspective, the language features of English and American literature are distinct, with monologue forms being more prominent. At the same time, it also fully embraces classic quotes while showcasing its own unique cultural consciousness. This paper primarily examines the linguistic characteristics of British and American literature from a cross-cultural perspective. It aims to provide a deep understanding of the linguistic allure inherent in British and American literature, thereby facilitating readers' comprehension of these literary traditions.
