Abstract

Adolescents' psychological development and health are significantly influenced by happiness education, which helps them experience happiness in their daily lives and approach issues and challenges in their development with a positive and optimistic attitude. Shanghai Baoshan Shiwai School has developed and implemented a "happiness" mental health education course that focuses on six dimensions: positive self, positive emotions, positive engagement, positive connections, positive significance, and positive achievements. This course is based on the principles of positive psychology. It helps students develop a positive attitude towards happiness, cultivate positive psychological traits, enhance their ability to experience and create happiness and improve their subjective well-being. When facilitating collaborative activities for middle school students, teachers should emphasize the importance of being part of a community, where each member can receive support from the group. Simultaneously, they should also focus on expressing their love to other members of the community. This establishes a chain of affection, which can unite the group and increase bonding. Physical and mental health, as well as inner happiness, are essential prerequisites for students to thrive. This is why prioritizing happiness care holds a central position in holistic education. No matter how the world changes, education serves one fundamental purpose: it brings happiness to people and allows them to discover their true selves, enabling them to become fully human. Happiness is the ultimate goal of human beings. People living in the world should prioritize their own happiness in order to create a warmer and sunnier society. This should be the most important goal of education.
