Abstract
The Dance Theory course is a fundamental course in the field of dance education in applied colleges and universities. It serves as a crucial component for students to acquire knowledge and skills in dance. This course plays a significant role in strengthening students' theoretical foundation, expanding their professional understanding of dance, and fostering their academic proficiency in the field of dance. In order to enhance the effectiveness of teaching theoretical courses for dance majors, teachers are implementing innovative teaching methods. They are adopting a blended teaching approach that combines online and offline activities to provide students with a diverse range of theoretical learning opportunities. This approach aims to motivate students and increase their enthusiasm for studying theoretical subjects. This study primarily examines the current teaching situation of dance theory courses in applied colleges and universities. It discusses the limited teaching methods used by teachers and the lack of practical application of theory by students. The study also analyzes the benefits and importance of implementing a blended teaching approach for the advancement of theoretical courses in dance majors at applied colleges. Furthermore, it explores the steps involved in constructing a blended teaching model for the instruction of theoretical courses in dance.
