Soft Expert Matrix Theory and Its Application in Decision-making

Abstract

Molodtsov presented a soft set in 1999 first as a general mathematical tool to work with ambiguous, fuzzily specified, and uncertain items. Subsequently, soft set theory plays a crucial role in dealing with decision-making. Alkhazaleh and Salleh suggested the concept of soft expert sets in 2011. Because each expert's opinion can be clearly expressed, the user can still know all expert viewpoints even after any alteration. Soft expert set theory is a recently developed mathematical technique for handling ambiguous issues. In this paper, we proposed the concept of the soft expert matrix which is given by the set of soft experts. Then we defined many varieties, as well as some operations such as addition, subtraction, product, complement, scalar multiple, transpose and trace. Finally, we broaden the application of matrix theory by applying soft expert matrix theory to decision-making problems. It can be seen from the applications that soft expert matrices can be successfully used for a variety of problems containing uncertainty without the use of rough sets and fuzzy soft sets.
